One page, held up to the light

p.159ch.6 ↗

page 159 of why's (poignant) Guide to Ruby. The text explains that files are input-output objects and that open slides an IO object down the chute into a block. It ends with: "If someone wants to read your diabolical idea about hiding lettuce in the church chairs, assuming you've posted it as a web page:".

Below that, in the bottom right corner, a handwritten note in red pen, all caps: "AI will steal your job anyway, so why reading this book? Actually... why reading books at all?", signed "Alessandro".

Page 159 teaches you to read a web page with open-uri. At the bottom, @coorasse left a warning in red:

AI will steal your job anyway, so why reading this book? Actually... why reading books at all? Alessandro

@coorasse

A fair question. Luckily Alessandro also maintains CanCanCan, so we asked:

can? :read, Book # => true

You can can read.

The foxes went back to reading. AI can't steal a fox's job. Foxes don't have jobs.
