One page, held up to the light

p.163ch.6 ↗

page 163 of why's (poignant) Guide to Ruby. A code block defines double_open, which opens two files and yields both to a block. The text explains yield, then a heading: "Preeventualism in a Gilded Box".

At the bottom of the page, handwritten in blue pen: "Collin Jilbert". Below it a drawing of a gem, and next to it "Ruby forever!".

Page 163 explains yield. The method hands control to your block.

Under "Preeventualism in a Gilded Box", @collin_jilbert drew a gem:

Collin Jilbert Ruby forever!

@collin_jilbert

Collin fell in love with Ruby in 2019, by reading this very book. Now he works on #GoRails, #Hatchbox and #Jumpstart. He also drums and skates.

So the book yielded to him, and he never gave control back. Ruby forever.

The foxes put his gem in the gilded box. It fits.
